ISR SURVIVAL PROGRAM
"where little swimmers learn BIG skills"
Picture

ISR lessons are designed to help infants, toddlers, and young children develop essential water survival skills through individualized, one-on-one instruction. Each lesson builds confidence, independence, and the skills needed to respond safely in and around the water.

Young children learn best in short, focused lessons.  Each 5-10 minute lesson, held 4 days per week, is carefully tailored to your child's physical, developmental, and emotional readiness.

Although each lesson is brief, the consistency of daily practice allows children to make steady progress. During each lesson we begin with a brief "Daily Wellness Check" with parents to review your child's overall wellness and readiness for that day's lesson.

The overall focus is to Build trust and confidence with the instructor;
Practice safe pool behaviors
(including approaching and entering the water);
Encourage listening, focus, and simple directions;
Introduce and reinforce water survival and swimming skills;
Build strength, stamina, confidence, and independence, one step at a time.

Most children complete their Initial ISR Training over approximately 20 lessons (4-5 weeks). Because every child learns at their own pace, lesson length and progression are individualized to ensure the safest and most successful experience possible.

Once your child completes the Initial ISR training, we offer several ways to maintain and strengthen their skills throughout the year.
*ISR Maintenance Lessons - Keep survival skills strong through regular practice
*Seasonal Refresher Lessons - Reinforce skills before summer vacations and swimming season
*Parent/Teacher Maintenance Classes - Learn how to safely practice and support your child's skills between professional lessons

There are two water survival skill sequences:

Roll-Back-to-Float
Recommended for infants approximately 6-18 months
Infants learn to gently roll onto their back into a survival float. Lessons focus on building comfort, breath control, confidence, and independent floating skills.
Private instruction; Ratio 1:1

Swim-Float-Swim
Recommended for children approximately 18 months - 4 years

As children develop the strength and coordination to swim independently, they learn to:
* swim with purpose
*roll onto their back to rest and breathe
*roll over and continue swimming until they reach safety
This sequence teaches children to conserve energy while making progress toward the pool's edge.
Private instruction; Ratio 1:1
